About Us

The founder and principal consultant is Chief Gbadebo Aremu Ishola. He is a Nigerian and grew up in Nigeria.

After his primary and secondary education, he worked briefly in Lagos before he travelled to the United Kingdom where he attended Higher Institutions in the late 1970's and early 1980.

After his professional qualification in transportation, he was elected member Chartered Institute of Transport, U.K (Now Chartered Institution of Transport and Logistics). This is the highest professional  shipping qualification in the U.K.

Chief Ishola later proceeded to University of Wales Cardiff where he obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Port and Shipping Administration.

In 1980, he got admitted to study Master of Science Degree (M.sc) in International Shipping. He obtained his M.sc degree in International Shipping in 1981 at Plymouth University in United Kingdom.

Chief Ishola later worked briefly with port of London Authority at Tilbury before he returned back to Nigeria.

In 1985, Chief Ishola was employed by Gulf Agency Company one of the biggest tanker ship agent in the world. He was employed as shipping manager.

The company sent him to Port Harcourt to head their operations in the Eastern part of Nigeria. This included but not limited to the company's operations in Port Harcourt Port, Onne Port, Bonny oil terminal (Onshore and Offshore), Akwa Ibom Mobil oil terminal in Eket, Calabar Port and Offshore terminals, Agip Brass oil terminal and Odudu Offshore terminal operated by ELF/TOTAL.

He was later promoted to Assistant Area Manager, then to Area Manager, then to Senior Area Manager.

Mr. Ishola became the first Nigerian to be promoted to Assitant General Manager in the history of Gulf Agency Company in Nigeria. He was later promoted to the position of General Manager External relations, the position he held till he retired from the company.

The company Chief Ishola joined in 1985 during the turbulent period of her existence in Nigeria later became the biggest and best shipping agent in tanker, general cargo, crewing, logistics, and terminal agency operations in Nigeria.

Due to Chief Ishola's contribution to the growth of Gulf Agency company in Nigeria, he was asked to stay behind and continuing working for the company as consultant.

Chief Gbadebo Ishola finally disengaged from the company in September 2008.

Chief Ishola is well loved by people of all communities where he operated when he was working with Gulf Agency Company.

As a way of showing their appreciation to him, communities in Ogbakiri Rivers State and Calabar in Cross Rivers State of Nigeria rewarded him with chieftaincy titles. This is a very rear honour for somebody like Chief Ishola who is not even an indigene of these areas.
